Most don’t even work, but what you need to consider is, if search engines like Google notice this activity, they will take your website out of the search index all together. Also a word to the wise, some of the ads for these types of services are from Google. It’s almost like a trap to find those who are paying for these services. You do not want to get caught up into this mess. So let me direct you in the right direction |
| What to do to build PR |
This takes work on your part. It also takes time. This does not happen overnight. The services out there that have built a reputation that help you exchange links with others are LinkMarket & Link2me. They both offer free and paid services. The free service will limit you to what they offer, but the free service will still let you get started. LinkMarket has a larger database of website owners looking to exchange links, but as I said before, the free service is very limited. Link2me is a little different. They offer a chance to build credit if you participate in completing survey’s they offer. You can make enough credit to get a chance to get more links exchanged starting off. You will need to make sure you are setup on your own website to start exchanging links with other websites. |

You want to make sure you are setup correctly for exchanging links. You may see some websites out there that have a ton of links all stacked all on one page. This is unprofessional and confusing method of keeping links. It also keeps more professional websites from wanting to exchange links with your website. Search engines are setup to see others websites that are linked to your website. It also takes into consideration what page your website is on. For instance, you may find a website willing to exchange links with you that rate as a PR 7 on the home page. But the page your link is on may only be a PR 1 or even 0. This will not hurt your rating, but it will not get you the best results from search engines reviews. This is not a bad thing because every website has to start somewhere. So you may be surprised to find that the website you exchanged with as a PR 0 five months ago is now a PR 3 and helping your ratings at the same time. This is why I tell you it takes time to build page rank, because the websites around you have to build PR ranking at the same time. It’s like a pyramid scheme if you really think about it. |

Page Rank is one of the hardest things to earn. I say earn because there is work involved. Here is a statement I will make that some website owners can relate to in a painful way. You work hard to get your website on the first page of google search return, and if you can get in the number one spot that is even better. You wake up the next morning and find you wnet from number 1 spot, or the first page, to the second or third page all in less than a 24 hour period. You may throw your computer through the window at this point and throw in the towel. But there is still hope. We are up against millions of other websites out there working on getting the highest page rank. So they are just as concerned about there results as you are. So they are trying to find the edge to get the top ranks, even paying thousands of dollars. But I am not convinced that you have to invest so much money in getting and keeping your spot on good search results.
The first rule of thumb is to make sure if you update your website often, or remove pages that were noticed on googles web bot, then you need to make an effort to get this information to google as soon as you can. The best way to get your updated info to google is by using sitemap.xml.
